Accounts Assistant - Sheffield United Football Club

Having had previous history of recruiting for Sheffield United Football Club we are delighted to be working with them again to assist in the recruitment of an experienced Accounts Assistant. 

Established over 130 years ago Sheffield United Football Club is a well known landmark in the area and has an excellent reputation for staff retention.  

This is a newly created role due to business demands and is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to join a friendly, established team. .

Reporting to the Manager duties will include:

  • Collating month end reports for the departmental Manager 
  • Answering calls and dealing with queries from customers and suppliers 
  • Maintain files and electronic records
  • Manage and maintain existing debtor records
  • Ensure all ledgers are maintained and properly reconciled
  • Sales ledger invoicing
  • Reconcile daily takings from various internal departments
  • Deferred income on sales invoicing
  • Credit control – weekly check
  • Daily cash flow & bank import
  • Bank reconciliations, postings and balancing on a daily basis
  • Processing & uploading bank payments
  • Reconciliations of nominal ledger and balance sheets codes
  • Any other ad hoc duties as directed by the Manager

This search is not limited to any industry but the successful candidate will be studying towards AAT:

  • Previous experience is essential
  • You must be IT literate with Intermediate Excel skills (V Look ups, Pivot Tables etc)
  • You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You must have excellent attention to detail with a proactive can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
