Assistant Payroll Manager - Urgently required

Experienced Assistant Payroll Manager required for a large, rapidly expanding  UK leading independent supplier based in Sheffield. 

The main purpose of the role is to support the team with the accurate and efficient processing of payroll. Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Supporting the preparation of the weekly/monthly payroll for c3000 employees
  • Calculation and payment of termination payments
  • Payment and reconciliation of bonus and overtime payments
  • Processing increases, calculation of back pays and payroll deductions
  • Calculating annual leave entitlement
  • Processing starters and leavers information
  • Ensure prompt maintenance of staff records at all times including archiving and filing
  • Resolving all pay queries and correction of errors
  • Accurately inputting data on to the SAGE payroll system
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing mail
  • Answering the telephone and responding to general enquiries from internal and external sources
  • Liaising with other team members and functions
  • Manually calculating statutory payments
  • RTI submissions
  • Managing and processing pensions into different schemes
  • Other reasonable ad hoc duties

This search is not limited to any industry. Accuracy and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is key to this recruitment. 

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience of working within a payroll administrative environment is essential
  • Good working knowledge of SAGE Payroll is required
  • Minimum B in GCSE Maths or equivalent is essential 
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload is required
  • You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be a team player as well as being able to work on your own
