Buyer – Food Ingredients

Our client is an established and expanding food manufacturer seeking a Buyer to join their procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in sourcing high-quality food ingredients, managing supplier relationships, and supporting the continued growth of the business.
The Role
Reporting into the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Procuring a wide range of food ingredients to support production requirements.
- Managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and driving cost savings.
- Ensuring continuity of supply while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Monitoring market trends and identifying opportunities to improve value and reduce risk.
- Working closely with Production, Planning, Technical, NPD, and Quality teams to ensure business requirements are met.
- Supporting supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing data and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Essential: Previous buying experience within the food manufacturing industry, specifically purchasing food ingredients.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, quality, and service.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
