South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) is looking for an exceptional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisations dynamic team and continue its mission of supporting and uplifting communities across South Yorkshire.

About SYCF

Since 1986, SYCF has been a cornerstone of support for local communities, awarding nearly £40 million in grants to community groups, charities, and individuals. As the largest grant-giving charity in the region and a proud member of the UK Community Foundations network, their impact is far-reaching and deeply rooted in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield.

SYCF Achievements

£1.7m Awarded in the Last Year: They supported over 400 community organisations, empowering them to make a difference.

Award-Winning Impact: Honored as the Social Impact Initiative of the Year at the 2023 South Yorkshire Business Awards.

Strategic Growth: Managing £12.6m in endowments and trust funds, with ambitions to increase total grant support to £20m by 2030.

The Role

As CEO, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, guiding SYCF through its next phase of growth.

You will:

Develop and Deliver the Strategic Plan: Aligning organisation goals to expand SYCF reach and impact.

Lead Key Projects and Income Initiatives: Building relationships with high-net-worth individuals and funders to secure essential support.

Oversee Financial Management: Ensuring resources are used wisely to maximise community benefit.

Foster Community Engagement: Encouraging input from diverse and marginalised groups to shape SYCF initiatives.

Your Profile

Visionary Leadership: Proven experience in strategic planning and driving impactful change.

Financial Acumen: Strong skills in financial management and budgeting.

Community Focus: Passion for improving the quality of life and building resilient communities.

Collaborative Spirit: Ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and inspire a dedicated team.
