Commercial Finance Manager

An AIM listed manufacturing business in Sheffield is looking to recruit for an ambitious Commercial Finance Manager. Reporting to the Financial Controller this role would suit a Finance Business Partner who is looking to take the next step in their career

The Group manufactures large capital equipment for delivery to customers, each one of these capital items is reported as a separate project.

  • This role will manage finance reporting of projects, this will include:
    • Continued development of the project reporting process ensuring this is clear and accurate
    • Improvement in efficiency of project reporting process including speeding up the month end procedures so that the overall month end period can be completed quicker
    • Continued development of the project forecasting process, working with project managers to ensure that forecasts reflect the current view of project progression and provide challenge
    • Development of monthly project review process with key stakeholders
    • Ensuring robustness of project reporting for audit review
  • Development of Commercial forecasting, including partnering with the sales and projects teams to understand and monitor the incoming project pipeline
  • Budgeting for upcoming projects for input into the overall company budget
  • Forecasting foreign currency requirements
  • Business partnering with the sales teams to ensure robust costings are submitted for project bids, including assisting in developing a costing template​
  • Assisting in the implementation and development of project reporting systems including an in-house cost tracking and forecasting software package
  • Line management for three project accountants

We are looking for candidates from the following background;

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) for 2 years PQE
  • Experience in a Commercial Finance, FP&A or Finance Business Partnering role
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach to problem solving
  • Strong communicator amongst all levels, both written and verbal
  • Good standard of systems and Excel ability
  • Experience of managing multiple senior level stakeholders
