Our client has a vision is to create a sustainable future through the effective management of water and wastewater assets. They are seeking a confident Commercial Manager to join our team and successfully contribute to their ambitions.

About the role

The Contract Manager will support and deputise for the Commercial Director, providing leadership to the Commercial team and support to the wider business in the areas of contractual obligations, commercial issues, contractual interpretation and commercial risk management. This new role requires the development and implementation of internal commercial policies, processes and procedures, influencing our strategic and operational approach to commercial activities.

Key responsibilities include:

·Development and implementation of strategies to resolve contractual and commercial problems.
·Assessment and mitigation of commercial risk to the business.
·Responsible for commercial, legal, contractual and non-operational aspects of the head PFI contract.
·Responsible for the maintenance of the Contract Obligations Register.
·Providing commercial advice and support in day-to-day activities, including contractual interpretation and guidance.
·Ensuring all business departments understand and adhere to contractual obligations.

About you

We are looking for a professional, self-motivated leader with extensive experience in contract administration. The successful candidate will have strong commercial experience and excellent attention to detail.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
Ability to identify and manage non-operational contract obligations Significant experience of developing and delivering commercial policies and processes Implementation of contract governance procedures Excellent knowledge and application of contract law Ability to plan and prioritise activities and meet deadlines Attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent high-quality work within acceptable timescales Strong client liaison and negotiation skills Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
