A privately owned and highly successful business based in Doncaster is seeking to appoint a commercially focused Finance Director to join its Senior Leadership Team.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, support continued growth, and ensure robust financial management across the business.
The Finance Director will lead a small, capable finance team and take overall responsibility for all financial operations, reporting, controls, compliance, and business planning activities. Working closely with the MD and wider leadership team, you will provide insightful financial analysis and commercial guidance to support operational performance and long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring high standards of financial control and reporting.
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Partner with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to drive commercial performance and strategic planning.
- Oversee statutory accounts, audit processes, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage banking relationships, funding arrangements, and working capital requirements.
- Develop and enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
- Provide financial insight on acquisitions, investments, and business improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and support a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
The Candidate
We are seeking a qualified finance professional (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in a senior finance position.
You will combine technical excellence with commercial acumen and possess the confidence to challenge, influence, and contribute at board level.
