With revenues approaching £10m and a core business generating a gross profit of £1.8m, our client has diversified into a new business in which they have already made a considerable investment. They are embarking on a 5-year plan of significant sales growth. The existing board is made up of the existing shareholders and is built on strong relationships between themselves and their market. The incoming Finance Director will complete the team and will play a key part in delivering on the business objectives and ultimate exit plan.
This is a Finance Director role that needs a depth of experience across many areas.
- Commercial approach to finance, supporting business development and customer facing at times
- International experience with technical understanding of foreign currency management and overseas trading
- Fluent knowledge of variety of financing options including asset-based lending
- Working successfully in SMEs with high-growth plans - with an ability to plan for a successful exit
Reporting into the CEO and majority shareholder, the other duties and responsibilities will include;
- Leading a finance team
- Statutory and financial reporting
- Setting systems and controls for effective management reporting
- Implementing an efficient tax strategy
- Risk management
In addition to meeting the technical requirements of the role, it is vital to complement the existing strength of the board, their values and priorities;
- Results orientated, transparent communication style and resilient
- Agile and adaptable
- Able to travel to meet overseas customers when required
- High levels of drive and accountability
