Finance Director
Every so often a Finance Director opportunity comes along that makes you sit up and take notice . This is unquestionably one of them
Founder-led. Purpose-driven. Internationally ambitious, and operating with a business model that demonstrates that commercial success and social impact can genuinely go hand in hand.
The concept works. The platform has scale. International expansion is underway. Tickets for Good is entering what could be the most exciting stage of its journey so far.
For a Finance Director, the timing is close to perfect.
This is the opportunity to join before the next phase of growth rather than after it has happened – working alongside the Founder & CEO and wider leadership team to help shape how the business develops, invests and scales.
The Business
Tickets for Good connects the live events industry with people who do good for society.
Its technology enables event organisers, venues and ticketing partners to make better use of available ticket inventory, while giving key workers and other eligible communities greater access to memorable live experiences.
It is a compelling example of profit with purpose.
The stronger Tickets for Good becomes commercially, the more people it can reach and the greater its social impact can become.
From its roots in Sheffield, the business has grown into an increasingly international organisation with significant ambition. Recent investment gives it additional firepower to accelerate growth across technology, people, partnerships and international markets.
Now it needs the financial leadership to match that ambition.
The Opportunity
The Finance Director will become a key member of the leadership team and a genuine partner to the Founder.
The incoming FD will help the business make better decisions, , understand the economics of its growth and build the financial infrastructure required for a significantly larger organisation.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling.
- Developing commercially relevant management information and KPIs.
- Managing cash, and working capital
- Providing the Founder and leadership team with clear, forward-looking commercial insight.
- Strengthening financial controls, governance and risk as the business scales.
- Building the finance systems, processes and team required to support international growth.
- Supporting the Board, and key external stakeholders.
- Evaluating new markets, partnerships and growth opportunities.
There will be strategy. There will be Board and stakeholder exposure. There will also be detail.
This remains an entrepreneurial growth business. The successful FD therefore needs to be equally comfortable helping shape the long-term plan and getting underneath the numbers when something doesn't quite stack up.
Who Are We Looking For?
You may already be an experienced Finance Director who has helped an entrepreneurial or investor-backed SME through growth. Alternatively, you could be a Financial Controller ready to make your first move into an FD role and excited by the opportunity to grow alongside the business.
What matters most is capability and mindset.
You are likely to be:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Commercially minded with strong financial foundations.
- Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial SME, scale-up or similarly fast-moving environment.
- Able to use data and financial insight to influence decisions, rather than simply report what has happened.
- Credible working closely with a Founder, leadership team, Board and investors.
- Comfortable combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
- Collaborative, curious, low ego and excited by the opportunity to build.
For the right Finance Director, that means joining a founder-led business immediately after significant investment, helping shape an international growth story and building the financial foundations for a company with the potential to make a meaningful impact at scale.
We cannot think of a better time to join.
- Competitive salary to attract and engage (0.8 or 1.0 FTE)
- Predominantly Sheffield-based with some hybrid working
