Due to internal promotion an expanding technology business based in Leeds are looking to recruit a new Finance Manager. This is a key role within the finance function and will be responsible for managing the financial reporting, continuous improvement of controls and procedures and fulfilling the company's statutory obligations. Playing a key role in audit preparation/liaison.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage the finance team and collaborate with those responsible for financial planning and analysis
  • Audit planning and annual financial pack creation
  • Control the organisations accounts across the regions 
  • Analyse and lead improvements including treasury, invoice, debt management, payroll and financial accounting systems
  • Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions
  • Oversee financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants
  • Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, and other financial needs as necessary
  • Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
  • Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company
  • Research and analyse financial reports and market trends
  • Provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives to aid in long-term and short-term decision making
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
  • Present financial reports to management 
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company

Key Requirements and Preferences:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Team management experience and ability to support development of junior staff
  • Experience of working in a SME business
  • Experience within a Service industry is desirable
  • Good communication skills and the ability to liaise with all levels, across the business
  • Hard working with a hands-on attitude
  • Team player
