Finance Manager required for Leeds based business. 

Experienced and technically excellent, the Financial Manager will lead the preparation, examining, and analysing of the company’s financial reports and records. Creating robust financial practices that ensure the Finance function achieves tight submission deadlines to key stakeholders while maintaining accuracy.

This position requires strong financial accounting and finance systems skills, with experience of regulatory and statutory requirements, including Tax, VAT, and cash management. The position will also have responsibility for ensuring tight control as well as overseeing Accounts Receivable and Reconciliation Processes with an emphasis on automation.

Key responsibilities will involve:

Production of statutory accounts for review by Head of Finance and submission to Board for approval.

Drive automation of the Finance functions processes where feasible.

To lead a team of 3 to complete monthly bank, payroll, tax, and intercompany reconciliations in line with deadlines.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.

Ensuring posting of monthly results into the ledger, creating strong controls and governance that eradicate errors.

Managing our credit control process, ensuring debt from customers is recoverable.

Striving for faster financial closing to maximise the time available to provide insight and value add analysis and commentary while meeting deadlines

Drive improvements in the handling of student monies ensuring deposits are uploaded into the protection scheme on time, refunds are error free and efficient, and monies held can always be reconciled

Developing appropriate policies, procedures and identifying opportunities to improve and streamline.

Responsible for ensuring finance systems are compliant, efficient and fit for business purpose.

Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations including client rent and student deposit accounts on a timely basis.

The candidate will be ACCA / CIMA qualified with proven experience as a Financial Accountant/Finance Manager or similar role.

Whilst the position is full time and based in Leeds the role provides the opportunity for hybrid working, splitting the working week between home and office.
