Financial Accountant required for a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join a European Finance Centre to further their development and career. Reporting to the European Controller, this role will perform the activities required to ensure timely and accurate period-end reporting, maintain the integrity of the balance sheet, processing of journal entries, as well as support on ad hoc projects and the mentoring of junior staff. The role will provide a broad range of experience and is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, ambitious individual, looking to further develop their career in finance.
Key duties:
Monthly financial accounting for the EFC EMEA entities
Detailed variance analysis on the monthly financial reports
Preparation and approval of balance sheet reconciliations
Working closely with the FP&A, in country finance, operations and HR teams to ensure transactions are accurately reported
Year-end statutory and tax compliance
Key contact for internal and external auditors
Assist with maintaining SOX compliance
The most suitable candidate will:
ACCA / ACA qualified or part qualified
Good technical accounting knowledge and comfortable with double entry bookkeeping
Familiar with the preparation of management accounts or statutory accounts process
Well organised and comfortable working in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently, whilst displaying enthusiasm to assist other members of the GL team when required
Attention to detail
An ambitious individual with a focus on career progression
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience of SAP is preferred but not essential
Familiar with MS Office, especially excel
