Experienced Financial Controller required for an established manufacturing/engineering business in the Leeds area.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for the day to day management of a small finance team, the provision of all financial and MI reporting requirements, maintaining and improving financial controls, improving the speed and accuracy of internal and external reporting and the delivery of annual budgeting and periodic forecasting requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing and developing a small team of finance staff.
Preparation and analysis of the monthly management accounts
Preparation of MI reports for effective understanding of the company financial performance
Completion of regular reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
Manage the accurate reporting and forecasting of project revenue, costs and margins, through working closely with the commercial team.
Preparation of annual budget and periodic (quarterly and ad hoc) forecasts including a focus on identifying profit improvement actions. Monitoring and reporting on performance against budget and advising budget holders.
Production of year-end accounts and managing the annual audit.
Completion of VAT Returns and oversee other tax and duty submissions to the relevant tax authorities.
The suitable applicant will be a qualified accountant with at least three years post qualified experience, previous exposure working within manufacturing/engineering and staff management experience.
