Financial Controller (Operations) required for successful food manufacturer in the Wakefield area.

The purpose of this post is to provide clear insight into factory performance, building key relationships and ensuring the business can react quickly to new challenges. The suitable applicant will work closely with the wider finance team and the factory management team with key accountabilities including: 

  • Provide wide range reporting to support understanding of business performance
  • Develop ways to improve transparency of numbers reported
  • Presenting financial performance, full year forecasts and budget variances including understanding financial opportunities and risk
  • Building partnerships and strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams and providing financial support to commercial decision making
  • Provide pre and post calculations / analysis to aid in business decisions
  • Accountable for all product costings
  • Keep the company systems up to date with product updates, new product launches, product costs etc
  • Project involvement with company-wide process changes and improvements
  • Month end involvement
  • Assist in Year-end audit
  • Involvement in creation of forecasts for the Group
  • Involvement with Group requests
  • Completion of external reporting, where appropriate
  • Ad-hoc project work

The suitable applicant will have the following qualifications/experience: 

  • Experience of working in a large complex organization, ideally food manufacturing
  • CIMA or ACCA qualified or part qualified 
  • Good Excel and analytical skills are a must
  • Good communication skills – ability to communicate appropriately at all levels to both finance and non-finance colleagues
  • Good time management and organization skills

  • Proactive and Inquisitive nature
  • Comfortable working independently and in teams

Salary of circa £45,000 plus benefits.
