Group Accountant - Global, Listed Business

Group Accountant sought for this highly successful Precision Engineering business based on the outskirts of Leeds/Wakefield.  Working within a small head office team, this will be a high-profile role suited to a diligent and articulate ACA qualified accountant with a strong audit background. 

The key purpose of the role is to: 

  1. Support and deliver timely, accurate and compliant third party stakeholder plc external reporting, including Environment, Social and Governance disclosures, Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures, insurance compliance, bank covenants and facilities compliance, pensions covenant compliance.


  1. Other responsibilities include:
  • Consolidation of weekly short term cash flow forecasts
  • Other treasury updates e.g., daily UK bank balances updates
  • Monthly group debtor and sales reporting to credit insurer
  • Site financial control and balance sheet reviews including Internal Audit follow up
  • Group finance manual review and update to ensure IFRS compliant
  • Internal Audit and Controls review, liaison and support, updating and testing
  • Support in Group Statutory Accounts processes, including subsidiary accounts & tax accounts support


  1. Share in the delivery of finance team pooled responsibilities and processes including:
  • Annual and Interim Report and Accounts preparation to deliver
  • Annual Budget and forecasting - monthly/quarterly/six monthly
  • Assistance with transfer pricing compliance projects
  • Support and Review Group Management Accounts, review for IFRS compliance, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, prompt resolution of queries and errors
  • Occasional support for other team duties including HO accountant, FC, DFC, Projects


  1. Support Finance team in other development projects, e.g. Enterprise Resource Planning finance migration and development of new consolidation, analysis and reporting tools.
  • Understand new chart of accounts mapping structures to embed in new consolidations and reporting
  • Understand and help deliver migration to Business Central & updated accounting processes.

Key technical skills and experience:

  • Advanced Excel expertise,
  • Ability to work accurately with a keen eye for detail with strong report writing skills
  • Strong plc external reporting and IFRS knowledge
  • Corporate and indirect taxation knowledge desirable not necessary
