Group Finance Director

A Finance Director opportunity for a group of green energy companies, with long-term support from a private equity investor. Already profitable and cash generative, the business has a very positive outlook. The Finance Director role will allow the business to add further growth and value.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in business with a profitable business model, strong environmental credentials and future prospects of further investment and returns (both for the company and personally). The immediate deliverables are:                


  • Manage the financial objectives in line with the investment plan
  • Review team performance, review and allocate resource as necessary
  • Review/critique and measure business strategic objectives
  • Work closely with the management teams to review/adapt the business plan to achieve long term investor expectations
  • Work closely with management teams to improve operating performance
  • Ensuring the company KPI’s are in place and reported on time including maintenance of historical records
  • Project management skills – assisting management teams in achieving cost savings and managing time constraints
  • Playing a key role in commercial aspects of the business, including long term supply contracts and purchase power agreements
  • Experienced business modeller able to build, adapt and maintain complex business models


Candidates will bring previous Finance Director level experience from a private equity environment. Other essential criteria are;


  • Qualified accountant ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA (5 years PQE)
  • Leadership experience (preferably having held senior leadership positions) – ability to work & manage remotely
  • Private equity experience essential
  • Human resource management experience
  • Experience in a Big 4 / transaction services team would be an advantage
  • Advanced spreadsheet, business modelling capability
