The Group Financial Controller will report into the CFO and will take a lead on all aspects of financial reporting, corporate financing, tax and treasury.

A summary of the key duties and responsibilities;

  • Lead and develop the financial reporting and accounting teams and assist the Chief Financial Officer to provide financial leadership
  • Ensuring that the Finance Team is ready for business growth
  • Leading on statutory account preparation (Group & Subsidiaries) and presentation of these accounts in group reporting to stakeholders (including shareholders)
  • Supervising the production of timely regular monthly financial information for Plc Board reporting, including KPI setting and reporting
  • Lead on the day-to-day audit relationship and manage the annual group audit of corporate entities and financing arrangements
  • Lead on tax analysis, reporting and compliance, working with our external tax advisers
  • Treasury and working capital management
  • Support the Head of Joint Venture accounting in account preparation for JVs
  • Leads on documenting and maintaining financial controls, systems and processes to ensure the Harworth Group retains a strong financial control environment in line with a premier segment main market LSE listing
  • Overall responsibility for the internal audit process, the management and reporting of which is led by the FRC

 

This opportunity needs candidates with the very highest level of technical accounting knowledge (probably qualifying from an ACA training contract with a Big 4 or Top 10 firm). Other skills required;
