Group Financial Controller for a private equity owned SME, experiencing over 100% top line growth in the last financial year. Operating in a very strong sector, they have realistic ambitions to grow substantially through acquisition and some significant organic growth. (located in East Leeds)

Reporting to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will be a finance professional with exceptional technical finance knowledge, levels of drive, ambition and leadership skills. This is a very attractive opportunity to join an exciting business, work with exceptional people and take ownership of a broad range of duties and responsibilities

Working with a small, growing finance team, responsibilities will include;

 

  • Manage annual group audit of corporate entities and financing arrangements including Tax and Treasury. (includes domestic and international entities)
  • Periodic reporting of financial performance of individual entities and on a consolidated basis
  • Coordinating overall audit timetable
  • Lead statutory account preparation ensuring annual report and accounts are completed to a high standard with a strong focus on continuous improvement in the quality of reporting.
  • Support CFO in the management of financial stakeholder relationships
  • Promotion of a strong cash & working capital agenda across the group
  • Management and oversight of group tax compliance and tax strategy
  • Ensuring the financial control, compliance and risk management objectives for the group are achieved.

 

With the primary focus of the role on technical accounting, there is an expectation that candidates will probably have come from an ACA training background, but this does not restrict interest from other candidates with experience in the above duties and with the following skills and competencies;

 

  • International accounting
  • Attention to detail, meticulous planning and highly numerate
  • A work ethic that is supported by energy and a passion for business
  • Innovative and with an eye for constantly improving processes and controls
