Group Reporting Accountant required for a 12-15 month fixed term contract in the York area.
Main purpose & Scope of role: This is a key role in the Finance team working closely with the Corporate Finance team and the wider business. The role’s primary responsibilities are to run the month end and year end close, consolidation and reporting process including to the Executive and group parent company. Outside of the reporting cycle this role has a key focus on improving processes and financial controls.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Preparation of financial reporting for the management team and parent company, including consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash flow, variance analysis and management of the risk and ops register.
- Preparation of Statutory Accounts for all group companies.
- Support the Head of Finance with implementing and reviewing the Controls Self-Assessment & Criminal Finance Act exposure.
- Provide technical accounting guidance to Finance Directors as required.
- Drive forward improvements in processes and controls in line with best practice and accounting standards.
- Review monthly results to ensure accuracy and provide insightful narrative
- Manage, coach and develop a team of two management accountants
Technical experience required:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial compliance and corporation tax
- Competent with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Experience of using ERPS/financial packages
