Head of Environment and Sustainability (12-Month Maternity Cover)

We are currently working with a market leader in technology and connectivity integration across UK in the search for a Head of Environment and Sustainability. Your Role and Responsibilities

As the Head of Environment and Sustainability, you will:

  • Provide environmental advice to management, HSEQ team, and project management teams.
  • Lead the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and objectives, ensuring alignment with company and client requirements.
  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies, collaborating with managers to meet objectives.
  • Work with the Group Head of HSEQ to set environmental targets and objectives.
  • Assist the tenders team with environmental, CSR, and sustainability responses.
  • Ensure ISO14001 compliance and maintain the integrated management system.
  • Report on environmental, CSR, and sustainability matters to UK and European regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor performance through audits and site monitoring.
  • Develop and review Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Site Waste Management Plans (SWMPs).
  • Create briefings and support training package development.
  • Support facilities and project management in waste management arrangements.
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and carbon footprint measurements.
  • Support statistical analysis and report production.
  • Skills, Qualifications, and Competence

Essential:

  • Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)
  • Full member of IEMA or equivalent (FIEMA)
  • Degree in environmental sciences or equivalent
  • Construction experience
  • Strong IT skills and practical knowledge of environmental legislation
