Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director this role will be the first point of contact for all HR and employee related issues for the European group of companies whilst overseeing a small HR team based within the head office. You will be responsible for:

  • Providing professional HR guidance, and by development and implementation of policies and processes add value to the success of  employees and the organisation.
  • Providing support and guidance, coaching and mentoring, and leadership on all HR issues to senior management.
  • Taking responsibility and accountability for all labour legal disputes within the area of responsibility.
  • Driving employee engagement through effective communication and company initiatives
  • Developing a strategic HR agenda for Europe that supports the overall aims of the organisation.
  • Supporting, motivating and influencing local senior management to adopt and apply best and consistent business policy and practices in line with legislation and with a view to mitigating risk & liability.
  • Providing generalist HR support and accept accountability to manage labour disputes and litigation.
  • Developing and driving company-wide initiatives and programmes including Talent management, succession
  • Planning, learning and development of ‘HI-Potential’ candidates and employee engagement
  • Providing and influencing KPI’s for areas of responsibility in Europe

The ideal candidate  will have/be:

  • Strong influencing and leadership skills
  • Effective communication and the ability to engage employees at all levels of the business.
  • Previous experience in a similar role with a proven track record outside of the UK 
  • Ability to travel outside of the UK within areas of responsibility. 
  • Commercially focused with the ability to showcase how effective People Development can improve the business performance.
  • A practical, hands-on approach.
  • Similar HR and Development experience in a high growth manufacturing (or similar) environment
  • Qualified CIPD Level 7 
  • Experience of leading a team and delivering change
  • Demonstrable examples of designing and delivering on People and Development Strategies
