Are you an experienced Head of Finance with a strong commercial background? I am looking after an incredible opportunity to become the Head of Finance for a fast growing business ! Backed by private equity and situated in commuting distance from York, Leeds, Harrogate and Wakefield , I am looking for a hands on commercial finance leader to join the Senior Leadership Team.

The Head of Finance in commercial finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities related to our commercial operations. This individual will play a critical role in driving financial performance, optimising processes, and providing strategic insights to support the company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering. Additionally, the candidate must possess advanced systems expertise to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all areas of commercial finance and business partnering
  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Evaluate and optimise financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term financial strategies and plans that align with the company's objectives.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and external stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform financial planning and decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a progressive finance role, with a focus on commercial finance and business partnering.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Extensive experience with financial systems (e.g., ERP, BI tools) and the ability to leverage technology to drive process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
