Aircraft Operations - DEA Aviation Ltd

The business is looking for an experienced Senior Programme Manager or Head of Programmes who can develop and lead a first-class Project management office and team. As part of the senior leadership team you will be responsible for setting strategic direction whilst having the ability to still be hands on in a fast-paced agile environment.

As a member of the DEA senior leadership team, this role leads the development of project management capability in DEA, as well as supporting and ensuring the delivery of all DEA projects through a Project management office (PMO) and team. The role also supports key cross departmental planning, ensuring plans are optimised and communicated in line with business priorities.

The role leads a small team of dedicated PMO project managers but also applies influence and leadership across the organisation.

Accountabilities of the role and PMO include:

  • Deploying project management processes and best practices and documenting these as part of the development of the DEA way of project management
  • Deploying project management resources onto key DEA projects and ensuring these are delivered in line with objectives.
  • Supporting and coaching project teams in DEA, to develop a project management skill set.
  • Reviewing the training and development needs of the organisation for individuals and teams and implementing appropriate development plans to raise the project management competence of the organisation.
  • Developing and maintaining the DEA integrated aircraft plan and DEA project master schedule and tracking and reporting the overall project status and health.
  • Carrying out project assurance and risk reviews to DEA projects and supporting mitigating actions to deliver projects on time and in line with agreed benefits.
  • Developing and implementing visual management mechanisms within DEA to aid effective project and new task management.
  • Coordinating the planning of key cross department DEA activities.

The successful candidate will  be able to demonstrate the following experience or aptitude;

  • Project and programme management experience at a senior leadership level.

  • Ideally experienced in operational delivery and planning

  • Experience of operating at senior levels within an organisation with experience of balancing strategic development with operational delivery

  • Experience of programmes management in Aerospace, Engineering or Pharmaceutical environment would be an advantage

  • Demonstrated leadership and skills coaching skills
