An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well-established, privately owned SME during a significant period of change.
This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys bringing structure and stability where it's needed most. You'll work closely with senior leadership, taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function while supporting the business through an important transitional period.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the month-end close process.
- Producing timely and accurate management accounts.
- Managing payroll and overseeing UK and overseas VAT.
- Supporting cash flow, financial reporting and day-to-day financial control.
- Working closely with operational stakeholders to improve reporting and processes.
- Using Excel extensively to analyse data and produce meaningful management information.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous Interim Financial Controller or Senior Management Accountant experience.
- Is comfortable joining businesses in transition and can quickly establish credibility.
- Is resilient, pragmatic and able to work with imperfect information while driving improvements.
- Has excellent Excel skills and enjoys getting into the detail when required.
- Can start at short notice.
The role:
- London based with c.3 days per week on site.
- Immediate start.
- £600–£750 per day, depending on experience.
- Initial short term contract, with potential for longer term extension depending on business requirements.
