Interim Group Financial Controller – Listed PLC

Our client is a significant operator within the construction sector, and is going through a period of change. Our client is looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller, with significant PLC experience to join their business on an interim business for up to six months. The role will report directly to the CFO, the Group Financial Controller will take lead responsibility for Financial Reporting, Statutory Accounts and Board Reporting, as well as ensuring that the group maintains a strong financial control environment.

 

Other duties of this role will include:

  • Lead and develop the financial reporting and accounting teams and assist the Chief Financial Officer to provide financial leadership
  • Leads on statutory account preparation (Group & Subsidiaries)
  • Supervising the production of timely regular monthly financial information for Plc Board reporting
  • KPI setting and reporting
  • Lead on the day-to-day audit relationship
  • Lead on tax analysis, reporting and compliance, working with our external tax advisers
  • Treasury and working capital management
  • Document and maintain strong financial controls, systems and processes
  • Provide the technical expertise and market awareness to lead on accounting policies and governance
  • Ad hoc project work and financial analysis as required by the CFO

 

We are only considering the strongest technical accountants for this opportunity, with significant listed plc experience. The right candidate will be Big 4 or Top 10 trained, and hold an ACA qualification: Additionally, other skills required:

  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS and UKGAAP
  • Strong management skills
  • Able to business partner and engage with senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the construction sector would be advantageous
