Our client, a well-established and forward-thinking organisation based in York, is seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a hybrid working model, providing a balance between working from home and in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide variance analysis and insightful commentary on key financial performance metrics.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Support the senior finance team in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Collaborate with department heads to track and report on departmental performance and financial outcomes.
- Review and enhance existing financial processes and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
- Ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Key Requirements:
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.
- Proven experience in management accounting, with strong financial reporting and analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to build and manage financial models.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
