North Lincolnshire | Hybrid Working | Immediate Start | Contract until July 2027
An excellent opportunity for a technically strong Financial Controller to take responsibility for UK and European finance operations within a substantial, internationally operating business.
Pratap Partnership is working exclusively with an established, international group to recruit an Interim Regional Financial Controller covering the UK and Continental Europe.
The business is undergoing significant transformation, investment in systems and improvements to its financial reporting processes.
This is a high-profile role offering considerable autonomy, international exposure and the opportunity to lead a developing finance team while working closely with senior operational stakeholders.
The role
Reporting into senior group finance leadership, you will take responsibility for financial control, reporting and forecasting across the UK and key European territories.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a small international finance team.
- Taking ownership of regional financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
- Managing the year-end and subsequent external audit process, working closely with external auditors to deliver high-quality accounts within demanding deadlines.
- Continuing to strengthen financial controls, ledger quality and reporting standards.
- Overseeing rolling 12-month forecasts, reforecasting and financial performance analysis.
- Partnering closely with senior regional and operational management, providing financial insight to support commercial decision-making.
- Supporting ongoing finance transformation and the continued development of finance operations.
The person
We are looking for an experienced, technically accomplished finance professional who combines strong financial control and audit experience with the ability to lead teams and engage effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
Ideally, you will offer:
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Big Four or leading accountancy practice background.
- Substantial financial control, statutory reporting and external audit experience, with a proven ability to deliver high-quality audits.
- Experience operating within an international or multi-entity group environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, ideally including IFRS and European reporting requirements.
- Experience managing and developing finance teams.
- The ability to improve processes, strengthen controls and maintain high standards of financial reporting.
- Commercial awareness and confidence working closely with senior non-finance stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the credibility to take ownership of a demanding remit from the outset.
The opportunity
This is an interim assignment commencing as soon as possible and running through to mid-July 2027, covering the financial year-end, audit and statutory reporting cycle.
The position offers significant home-working flexibility, with attendance at the company's North Lincolnshire office typically averaging one day per week. Additional office attendance will occasionally be required depending on business needs, so flexibility is important.
There may also be very occasional travel to the group's European operations.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Group Financial Controller, Regional Controller or senior Financial Controller seeking a technically challenging international assignment with a strong mix of financial control, team leadership and business partnering.
