A brand new excellent opportunity has arisen for a part qualified Management Accountant to join a Retford based business on a permanent basis. Due to continued growth and group investment, we are seeking an equally ambitious accountant to join their growing team. You will be actively studying an accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and have the drive and motivation to suggest and implement improvements and streamline processes.
Based at their offices in Retford and supporting the Financial Controller you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Responsible for preparation of month end financial reports
- Assists the Financial Controller with annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting tasks
- Reconcile the key balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, investigating and correcting discrepancies where appropriate
- Responsible for maintaining accuracy of inventory recorded in the ERP system
- Responsibility for all company bank transactions – including processing monthly payment runs and reconciling bank accounts to the ERP system
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Provide support in the preparation of CAPEX proposals and monitoring CAPEX spend throughout the projects
- Responsible for the administration of company payroll – including processing of time sheets, monthly salary adjustments, posting journals to GL accounts and liaising with the external payroll provider
- Generate quarterly VAT returns for submission
- Assists the Financial Controller with the yearly statutory audit requirements
- Provides support to the Financial Controller in managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions of the business
