Management Accountant

An AIM listed manufacturing business in Sheffield is looking to recruit for an ambitious Management Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager this role would suit a first time mover from chartered practice or a newly qualified accountant looking for the next step in their career.

  • Completion of key month end financial reporting, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Management Accounts and completion of cash flows
  • Assist in the development of business partnering with subsidiaries in the business, this will include the following:
    • Develop an understanding of the key drivers of the business
    • Continued development and preparation of suitable monthly reporting
    • answering queries and development of a relationship with key stakeholders
  • Assistance in overhead review procedures for departmental performance analysis
  • Management of payment runs for supplier payments, including review of payments and ensure suppliers are paid in line with their terms
  • Assisting with VAT return compilation
  • Continued development & process improvement of reporting processes including:
    • working to develop process flows and detailed instructions documents
    • Identify opportunities & solutions to reduce time taken on processes
  • Assisting in the yearly budgeting process
  • Line management for two junior staff (AAT qualified) including development
  • Year-end audit support to auditors

We are looking for candidates from the following background;

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
  • Experience preparing management or financial accounts
  • High attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach to problem solving
  • Strong communicator amongst all levels, both written and verbal
  • Good standard of systems and Excel ability
  • People management experience not necessary, but examples of helping and coordinating others useful
