Management Accountant required for an industry leading business based on the outskirts of Leeds. Awarded a Times Top 100 "Best Companies to work for" this role presents a great opportunity to work in a fast paced environment and sits within a team of seventy finance professionals. The role is responsible for accurately reporting the performance of company divisions and ensuring that all relevant balance sheet accounts are reconciled, understood and are clear from aged reconciling items. The role demands a confident and skilled qualified accountant. Excellent, professional, communication and analytical skills are essential ensuring a proactive rather than reactive approach.

Key accountabilities will include: 

To work with other teams in finance and non-finance functions to ensure the regular production and analysis of accurate and timely divisional financial and analytical reporting. Includes:

Maintenance of an appropriate control schedule for all balance sheet reconciliations relating to the division, which can be used as audit evidence, ensuring:

Assist with the preparation of the budget and forecast feeding in any assumptions, issues and/or opportunities to ensure that unnecessary variances are minimised.

To work closely with the functional teams to ensure clear and open communication at all levels, ensuring timely and appropriate escalation of issues to the relevant parties in the business. Including:

Ensuring all accounting and other policies and practices are adhered to, to allow for clear, easy and simple evidence to all interested 3rd parties. Liaison with the external auditors and tax advisors providing analysis and explanations as required. To ensure technical skills are kept up to date and to ensure professional development requirements of professional body are met.
