The company, based South Yorkshire, generates revenues in excess of £40 million and delivers strong, consistent profitability. With ambitious plans for European expansion and a clear pathway towards a future exit, the business is seeking to strengthen its Board with the addition of an experienced and commercially astute NED.
The Role
This appointment represents a key strategic hire, offering the opportunity to influence and support the business as it scales internationally and prepares for transaction.
Working closely with the executive team, you will bring independent perspective, governance, and constructive challenge, helping to ensure the business is structured, disciplined, and fully aligned for value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent oversight and strategic input at Board level
- Support the development and delivery of European growth strategy
- Guide the business towards transaction readiness and eventual exit
- Introduce and embed structure, governance, and accountability across the leadership team
- Offer appropriate challenge and insight to drive performance and decision making
- Contribute to shaping the long-term strategic vision of the business
The Candidate
- Previous experience as a Non-Executive Director or senior executive within a scaling business
- Demonstrable involvement in preparing a business for exit and supporting transaction processes
- Experience of European market expansion
- Strong operational background, ideally within manufacturing or a related sector
- Ability to bring clarity, structure, and discipline to a growing management team
- Confident in providing constructive challenge while maintaining effective relationships
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance detail and big-picture thinking
