Our new CEO was appointed in 2022 and, together with our elected student leaders, has ambitious and exciting plans to develop our sector-leading organisation even further. This has led to the creation of three new opportunities to join the senior leadership team. The People, Equity & Organisational Development Director role is an opportunity that will appeal to a wide range of values-driven candidates with a passion for EDI, strategy development and social impact.

About Sheffield Students’ Union:

We are an independent charity that works closely with the University of Sheffield to achieve a world class student experience for our members. Rated the best Students’ Union in the UK for the last 15 years, this success comes from years of continuous innovation, support from our partners, and the talent and enthusiasm of a fantastic staff team and student membership.

We are powered by students and exist to represent their needs and improve their experience at university. Every year a team of 13 Student Officers are elected to work on the behalf of students and champion their interests to the University of Sheffield, as well as local and national government. Our activities, events, and services provide thousands of opportunities for students to make connections and gain additional skills while studying. Our building hosts some of the most popular clubs, bars, eateries and shops for students in the city, and our staff facilitate over 350 Clubs, Societies and voluntary activities for students to engage with. Our independent Student Advice Centre supports students throughout their university life, and we empower students to campaign on issues which matter to them with our dedicated Representation and Organising team.
