We’re looking for an organised and detail-focused Compliance Officer to join the small Sustainability & Compliance Team of our client.

This is a varied role supporting compliance across the, covering Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance. It would suit someone with relevant operational or administrative experience who is looking to develop their knowledge and career within compliance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support and help conduct site audits against ISO standards and company requirements.
  • Record audit findings and support corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Support H&S risk assessments, compliance inspections and incident investigations.
  • Help site teams understand and implement compliance requirements.
  • Support compliance with relevant UK standards.
  • Maintain and update compliance procedures, documentation and SOPs.
  • Review legacy processes and documentation as part of ongoing integration and transformation.
  • Daily use of Compliance Management system to maintain accurate compliance records, system data, to track actions, and log audits, accident reports, asset management and equipment inspections.

Essential experience & skills:

  • Experience in an operational, quality, H&S or similar environment in an administrative or support capacity. Ideally wishing to develop in this area.
  • An awareness of basic Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when maintaining records, documentation and follow-up actions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Practical, reliable and motivated, with a willingness to learn and ask questions.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant compliance training, such as IOSH Managing Safely or internal auditing.
  • Flexibility to travel across the UK when required.

Desirable:

  • An understanding of ISO standards, auditing or risk assessment
  • Desire to develop a career within Health & Safety/Audit/Compliance
