An exciting interim opportunity has arisen to join a well known and successful business in South Yorkshire.

This temporary role is ideally suited to a commercially focused Finance Business Partner with strong FP&A experience, excellent analytical capability, and the ability to drive value across operational teams. The business has undergone significant transformation in recent years and continues to modernise with a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and investment.

The Role

This role will report to the Head of Commercial Finance and be responsible for providing end-to-end financial insight and analysis across key operational areas. Acting as a true business partner to the Operations Director, department heads, and senior stakeholders, the Finance Business Partner will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial performance reporting and driving accountability for delivery against manufacturing standards.

This is a varied role that will suit a commercially minded accountant with excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear, decision-supporting insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partner with Operations Director and Heads of Department to drive financial ownership across the business

  • Own and maintain company-wide standard costing models

  • Analyse and optimise raw material usage and associated costs

  • Provide accurate and informative reporting of operational financial performance

  • Build and improve operational KPIs and performance dashboards

  • Support FP&A processes

  • Drive process improvement and increase the level of actionable insight delivered to the business

  • Challenge, influence, and support continuous improvement initiatives across operations

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modelling as required

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant manufacturing or heavy industry experience

  • Commercially astute with strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills

  • Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills and the ability to interpret and communicate complex data

  • Confident, proactive, and capable of working with high levels of autonomy
