Fractional CFO

Lincoln, East Midlands / Lincolnshire

An ambitious and growing manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Fractional CFO / Finance Director to work closely with the Managing Director and help build the financial infrastructure required to support its next phase of growth.

This is a rare opportunity to build a finance function from the ground up.

Currently, there is no established finance team or finance infrastructure. The successful individual will therefore need to be equally comfortable working at a strategic level with the leadership team while also rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in the detail.

You will take ownership of the finance agenda, initially reviewing how the business currently manages its finances and then putting in place the appropriate systems, processes, controls, reporting and structure required as the business grows.

You will provide the Managing Director with clear financial visibility and commercial insight, while developing robust management information, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management. As the business develops, you will help determine what the future finance team should look like and support the recruitment and development of that function.

This is not a board-level advisory role. We are looking for someone who enjoys building, improving and creating structures, someone who can move seamlessly from discussing the future direction of the business to getting involved in the practicalities required to make it happen.

You will be an experienced CFO, Finance Director or senior finance leader, ideally with experience gained within a growing SME, manufacturing, engineering or similarly complex environment. Previous experience of building a finance function from scratch, implementing systems and supporting an entrepreneurial  owner-led business would be particularly valuable.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine and lasting impact, becoming a trusted adviser to the leadership team while creating a finance function capable of supporting the business through its next phase of growth.
