The purpose of the role is to implement and lead an internal audit programme for the Group to ensure accurate and effective financial reporting, assessing business process controls and compliance to internal and/or external policies, procedures, standards and regulations. An on-site presence and a forensic level of review will be required.
  • Financial Report Accuracy: Review the monthly management accounts to both inform the audit programme and to proactively identify gaps, inaccuracies, or issues for further analysis. This involves working closely with Group Finance, relevant Finance Business Partners, and business leaders.
  • Policy and Process Adherence: The Internal Auditor will work with the Executive, Group Finance and relevant business leaders to ensure key business and financial processes are well documented, embedded in the business units and adhered to at all times.
  • Board Report: On a monthly basis will produce a report for the Board on Internal Audit programme activity, with a more detailed quarterly report. This will include new audits and any identified risks and updates on previously identified issues and resolution.

There may also be ad-hoc reports to prepare for the Audit Committee as part of the Boards governance programme.

  • External Legislation and Standards: The Internal Auditor will work with Finance and the business to ensure evolving legislation, standards and other external requirements are being incorporated into the Group financial accounting and reporting.
