About the Role:

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping the company's legal strategy, leading on all company secretarial duties while ensuring compliance, regulatory excellence, and visionary corporate governance practices. You'll be hands-on as well as strategic, with responsibilities including:

  • Providing discreet legal counsel and guidance to the senior management team on various legal matters, including operations, contracts, privacy, and corporate governance.
  • Responsibility for company secretarial matters for all group companies.
  • Collaborating closely with executive teams and esteemed board-level stakeholders to chart strategic courses, boost profitability, and explore avenues of growth and prosperity.
  • Acting as the guardian of corporate governance, diligently ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Crafting and implementing comprehensive compliance programs and policies to shield from legal risks and elevate the business to industry standards.
  • Fostering strong relationships with external partners, from government agencies to legal advisors, nurturing these connections to benefit our organization.
  • Guiding the business through legal disputes with care and expertise, assisting internal departments through resolution efforts.

Candidate Profile:

We're seeking a ‘hands-on’ legal expert with at least 15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a background in leading legal teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex legal matters and promoting a culture of compliance within an organisation. You will be proficient in corporate and commercial law, corporate governance, procurement, and regulatory law, and have experience collaborating with senior stakeholders, driving transformative change, and fostering innovation. A knowledge of property law will also be a distinct advantage.
