This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to join a highly specialist manufacturing business at a pivotal stage of its development.

Our client is an established and highly regarded manufacturer of advanced ceramic components used in industrial gas turbines, aerospace and other precision-engineered applications. With decades of specialist expertise and a strong reputation for technical excellence, the business has recently been acquired by a global energy company which is investing heavily in the organisation and significantly ramping up production capacity. As, a result, this is an exceptionally exciting time to join the business and play a key role in shaping its next phase of growth.

As Head of Engineering, you will lead the engineering strategy and capability across the organisation, managing a multidisciplinary team spanning process engineering, materials development, tooling and industrialisation.

You will have responsibility for driving new product development and introduction, taking projects from concept and qualification through to robust series production. You will also lead improvements in process capability, yield and quality, while acting as the senior technical authority on process changes, technical issues and root-cause analysis.

Working closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, product development and wider engineering teams, you will help translate advanced ceramic technologies into reliable, scalable and commercially successful production.

This is not simply a role focused on maintaining existing engineering capability. You will have the opportunity to build, develop and shape the engineering function as the business expands, introducing new technologies, improving processes and developing the capability required to support significantly increased production.

We are looking for an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in ceramic manufacturing, investment casting or a comparable high-temperature manufacturing environment. You will ideally have experience of processes including injection moulding, slip casting, debinding, firing/sintering and non-destructive testing, alongside a strong understanding of process capability, yield improvement and ceramic materials.

You will also be an accomplished people leader, capable of developing technical teams and influencing stakeholders across a complex manufacturing environment. This, is a rare opportunity to join a specialist business at a transformational point in its journey, with the backing and investment of a major global organisation.
