We are looking for a Group Financial Accountant to cover a fixed-term maternity leave for a Sheffield based business. Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, you will support interim and year-end consolidation and manage external financial reporting. This includes working with auditors, preparing subsidiary financial statements, and improving reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consolidation and Reporting: Assist in group consolidation, prepare supporting documents, and manage interim and year-end reporting.
- Financial Statements: Prepare workings for interim results, year-end reports, and notes to the accounts.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to group accounting policies and assist in policy changes across the Group.
- Audit Support: Prepare documents for auditors and oversee group deliverables.
- Technical Expertise: Stay updated on IFRS changes, assist with new accounting standards, and address technical issues.
- Statutory Accounts: Prepare and file statutory accounts for subsidiary entities.
- Project Involvement: Support ad hoc projects, including IFRS16 reporting and group structure rationalisation.
We seek a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong technical background. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial reporting, excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
This is a long term assignment and offers hybrid working.
