Are you a seasoned professional in orchestrating agricultural events, with a passion for innovation and leadership? Position Overview: As the Society Manager, you'll be an integral part of the YAS leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. Your primary mission will be to ensure the continued success and evolution of the GYS, maintaining its relevance in the national events calendar while upholding its core charitable objectives and agricultural focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CEO on business development initiatives and strategies for the Showground and broader estate.
  • Manage GYS facilities and oversee budgetary aspects of the event.
  • Chair planning meetings, determine pricing strategies, and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation through technology solutions and enhance visitor experiences.
  • Coordinate various society departments to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Support and collaborate with colleagues responsible for trade stands, operations, livestock, entries, PR & marketing, and more.
  • Analyse visitor data to optimize engagement strategies.
  • Represent GYS and YAS at industry events and manage administrative duties for the Yorkshire Federation of Show Societies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Extensive experience in event planning and management, with a focus on agricultural shows.
  • Proven track record in project management, commercial negotiations, and team leadership.
  • Passion for agriculture and rural communities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain calm under pressure.
